From June 2012 - May 2013, I recorded Season One of the Game Theory Podcast with friends Brian Fife and Tom Westberg, with help from Colin Wambsgans. Brian has spent most of his career working in the consumer electronics industry. Tom is an electrical engineer who worked at General Computer in the ’80s and helped release several arcade and console titles, including Food Fight and the 7800 game console for Atari.
The podcast records conversations we have about video games, focusing on general concepts, design trends, and challenges in gaming rather than the latest news or gaming gossip. Example topics discussed have been MoMa’s inauguration of a few games into their collection, different forms of Design Innovation in games, the conceptual underpinnings behind Levels/Loot/Grind, and a comparative discussion of Sex and Violence in games vs. other media such as film and literature.
We sometimes make announcements on Twitter as well.
